SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant – Hackney – Immediate Start 
Pertemps Education is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Hackney. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, helping them engage fully with the curriculum and develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on students’ lives. 
 
Location: Hackney 
Pay: £90-£100 per day 
Start Date: November 
Interview Date: ASAP 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to students with special educational needs. 

• Assist students in staying focused and actively participating in classroom activities. 

• Support the class teacher by adapting learning materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of SEN students. 

• Promote the social and emotional well-being of students, encouraging confidence and independence. 

• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO. 

• Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that caters to all students’ needs. 

 
Qualifications and Skills: 

• Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or similar setting. 

• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff. 

• Knowledge of SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or sensory impairments. 

• Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. 

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
