Matthew Hall

Matthew has worked in recruitment for 25 years and, after moving into education recruitment, has worked for some of the largest agencies in the UK.

As a parent himself, Matthew takes education recruitment very seriously. He knows that all schools want to find talented teachers who are right for them, so for him, the starting point Is to gain an in-depth understanding of each client school. He says the secret of being a great recruiter is understanding what that school needs, and being able to think creatively about how to find those people. His approach is the same for candidates in that he sees it as our job to help them find the perfect role to match their skills, experience and ability.

Matthew joined Pertemps in November 2019 and took responsibility for both education brands a year later. He was delighted when he met his teams, and saw their passion for the business. One of his priorities is to spread the word about the wide-ranging expertise in both Pertemps Education and Hourglass. Made up of former teachers and accomplished recruitment professionals, the team understands regional challenges as well as the specific issues each teacher faces as they enter the school gates every day.

Matthew is a keen sportsman. In the last few years he has coached junior football, and committed his summer weekends to his local village cricket team. This has been so successful that his son has joined him in the slips. In his youth, Matthew’s sporting pursuits were a little faster paced – he played international hand ball.
