Finance Manager – Secondary School – Hounslow
Salary: £46,857–£49,890 per annum
Contract: Full-time, all-year-round (36 hours per week)

Are you a skilled Finance Manager looking for your next opportunity? A secondary school in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead their Finance Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the success of an educational institution by managing its financial operations and supporting its leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the organisation and execution of all financial activities, including payroll, pensions, and budget management.
  • Advise on compliance with financial legislation and guidance (e.g., ESFA, DfE).
  • Manage financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, audits, and statutory returns.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring efficient systems and processes are in place.
  • Monitor cash flow, oversee banking and reconciliations, and ensure accurate VAT accounting.
  • Drive income generation through funding applications, sponsorships, and fundraising.


What We’re Looking For:

  • AAT qualification (or part-qualified accountant) or significant financial experience, ideally in an education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, budget preparation, and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Proficiency in finance software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with systems like IRIS or SIMS is an advantage.
  • Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work autonomously.
